Securis has performed secure information destruction and electronic asset recycling since 2000. In 2021, we will generate more than $8 million in revenue and anticipate growth to $10 million in 2022. Most importantly, Securis will recycle more than 6,000,000 lbs of electronic waste this year and securely destroy almost 100,000 data-storing devices. With more than 70 employees, Securis is poised for sustained growth and continued success for several years to come.


Position Summary


The Securis team is looking for a Vice President of Finance who is an experienced, strategic leader. The Vice President of Finance will have a seat at the leadership table and further develop the foundation to support significant growth.   The position provides strategic, operational, and technical support to Securis. The position will oversee such areas as: financial reporting; bookkeeping; cash flow management; forecasting; process cost analysis; tax strategies; and business segment profitability analysis.  


Initially, the Vice President will manage and lead a small group of professionals in the finance area.  That group will grow  as Securis’s revenues increase.  The position will be 100% on-site at our headquarters in Chantilly, VA.


Most importantly, the Vice President will work cross-functionally across all business segments to make sure the translation of operational actions into financial results is understood and acted upon.


The position reports directly to the Chief Operating Officer



DESCRIPTION OF PRIMARY DUTIES


Key Areas of Responsibility:


Financial/Capital Strategy Management

  • Lead development of capital budgeting process, including ROI analysis and sensitivity analysis to key factors
  • Produce monthly business segment P&L’s and arrange reviews with segment leaders
  • Determine the amount of liquidity to maintain on a daily basis


Cash Flow Management

  • Produce weekly analysis of total cash position, including drivers of changes
  • Oversee AR collections and AP/vendor payments


Cost Accounting/Analysis

  • Develop detailed understanding of key operating processes, their current cost to operate, and recommend improvements
  • Periodically audit key operating processes to ensure consistency in execution


Forecasting

  • Generate reliable P&L and balance sheet forecasts by month, quarter and year for each business segment and the company as a whole
  • Analyze and understand leading indicators to revenue drivers to help management take corrective action as far in advance as possible.


Tax Strategy

  • Work with outside tax advisors to determine options to legally minimize our tax position


Specialized Skills: 

  • Proficient in QuickBooks Online
  • Outstanding analytical skills (including spreadsheet construction)
  • World class communication skills (both verbal and written)


Qualifications:

  • A minimum of a Bachelor's degree at an accredited college or university in Business Administration, Accounting, or a related field; or equivalent experience.
  • Advanced degree or CPA designation a plus


Experience Required:

  • Minimum 7-10 years of progressive finance experience required.  
  • Prior experience working in a small company is a plus.
  • Management and leadership experience of at least 3-5 years.
